Woolkeeper’s Rug Throw Down - 2026
Bring your Challenge rug from last year’s pattern or your favorite rug to display at our Rug Throw Down. A Gift certificate prize of $50 to your favorite show vendor will be awarded for the Overall Show Favorite and the Challenge Rug favorite. Rugs must be displayed for both days and picked up on Saturday after voting has been counted. Check in and pick up will be at the information booth. Rugs will be hung and taken down by Woolkeeper’s volunteers. Participants, or their designee, must provide return vouchers upon pick-up.
Meal Information:
Friday: Chicken salad sandwich, pasta salad, chips, cookie, and drink
Saturday: Pulled Pork, bun, Cole slaw, chips, cookie, and drink.
Tea Coffee Water and various soda options available

Baymont Inn & Suites is offering Woolkeeper’s attendees’ rooms at a significantly discounted rate. They are available for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights September 9-13th, 2026. Register early to secure your room. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the hotel. This rate is specific to Woolkeeper’s @ $98.00 +tax per night. This includes complimentary breakfast buffet and noon checkout. Baymont rooms will be held until August 16,2026. You can access our special rate and book by using the link below.
There are many hotels in the area and the reservations vary in cost. Travel apps like hotels.com , Travelocity, etc are a great way to reserve your room, cost varies, book early.

FROM THE WEST: Take I70 East to Exit 59 SR 39 Belleville/Monrovia-go north til Danville turn right on SR 36 East - go thru Danville to County Road 200 East (Walmart on corner) – turn left and proceed to Woolkeeper’s Hook-In location.
FROM THE EAST: I-70 through Indianapolis I-465 South from the east side around to the west side to the Danville/Rockville Road exit (US 36) – go west through Avon, continue west to County Road 200 East – turn right and continue to Woolkeeper’s Hook-In location.
FROM THE NORTH: Take I-465 South to the Danville/Rockville Road exit (US 36) – go west through Avon, continue west to County Road 200 East – turn right and continue to Woolkeeper’s Hook-In location.

Join us in class for your opportunity to make and take these fun pumpkins home in time for Halloween Decorating
The create-and-decorate fun hand stitching workshop offers a chance to craft a unique pumpkin that sparks creativity when stitched with hand-dyed wool fabric, then get all decorated with vintage buttons, hand-spun, hand-dyed yarns, sari silks, hand-dyed pantyhose, and other fun embellishments.
The kit will include a choice of wool, a wide array of fun embellishments, and weight pellets to help you create a distinctive pumpkin that reflects your style and imagination. Pumpkins are approximately 5” x 6” and weigh 1 pound each.
You will finish the pumpkin in class.

Angela Jones, owner of Breezy Ridge Rugs in Raywick, Kentucky, brings over 30 years of experience as a folk-art fiber artist. As a juried Kentucky Crafted fiber artist and Oxford-certified punch needle rug hooking instructor, she inspires confidence and excitement for those eager to learn from her expertise.
Her website, www.breezyridgerugs.com, features more than 250 original designs for both punch needle and traditional rug hookers, along with the necessary supplies for each pattern. Angela shares her enthusiasm and love for the craft, offering a wide range of punch needle and traditional rug hooking supplies, along with rug-related services.

Prodded Flower Class
Class Description:
Class will consist of instruction on how to complete a prodded flower. Teacher will provide each student with a kit that has the backing (linen or burlap), precut petals, and needles for the center and background. The project will then be mounted into a 6in x 6 in white shadow box frame. The teacher will instruct the students on how to finish the project even if they are unable to complete it in class. Included will be a rhinestone broach for the center a proddy stick awl to keep. Additional color preference choices will be available to exchange kit flower. Wool provided will be hand dyed and Dorr Mill products. Students need to bring a small frame, rug hook, and a pair of scissors.
